Dyeing workshop in Iran

Place: Zarab nomadic area.
Particpants: 25 women mainly from nucleus herds.
Date: November, 12, 2012.
Instructor: Mr. Reihani from Kerman city.
Material used for dyeing: Chemical dyes, cashmere and wool yarn, Acidic stone. Common local materials were used.
Duration of workshop: One full day. Lunch was served to all participants.
Future plan: Have another workshop using vegetable dyes.

Annual Steering Committee Meeting held in Tashkent

Project SCM was held in Tashkent on 27 September 2012. The project team decided to hold the meeting in a shortened format considering the expanded stakeholder workshop planned for spring 2013 in Bishkek.

Successful Artificial insemination campaign for Tajik Angora goats in Khujand/Tajikistan in October 2011

In addition to the activities on mohair processing, the Khujand project team also focused on implementing a breeding plan for the fall 2011 mating season. The objective was to inseminate selected nuclei females with frozen semen of American Angora bucks imported from Texas and establish production of quality breeding males at pilot sites.
